President Obama's apology for the Koran burnings in Afghanistan was not, as you claim, a sign of weakness.
It was, above all, an act of simple human decency.
But it was also an effort to soothe the anger of people who were as enraged as you would be, Rick, if Muslims had burned sacks of Bibles; a gesture to help repair America's reputation in the Muslim world; and an attempt to reduce the number of fatal attacks on Americans in Afghanistan.
In other words, Rick, President Obama apologized not out of weakness, but out of a strong desire to mitigate damage to our country and its citizens, resulting from a boorish, un-American act that you seem eager to excuse.
